Dry Rain
I met a bass guitarist called Bob at a 'Free for all' jam at a pub in Ryde. We got on well but I didn't think any more of it until I got a phone call from Bob asking if I'd like to audition for the band he was in 'Dry Rain'. I thought about it long & hard & decided to say yes and I'm glad I did.
The audition went well and I ended up  playing in the band for years with so many good memories. I made many recordings over that time which meant mic's and recorder had to be set up hastily. Most of these recordings are not ideal but they do represent the band in general and I'm glad I made them or this page wouldn't exist.
Dry Rain Studio Recording This recording was made in a home studio.
It's a decent enough recording but knowing how the band sounded live, I would've mixed it differently.

Dry Rain - Bob's 40th at The Priory This recording was of bass guitarist Bob's 40th birthday held at The Priory Barn in St Helens. Given the amount we all had to drink, I'm surprised there weren't more mistakes in our performance ! A lot of muso's turned up for the party.

Alans 40th birthday at the Vine A good night was had by all and a special thanks goes to the WAG's for adding to the vocal backings with their exuberance !
There is a glitch in Road To Hell that was from the tape so not able to fix.
Dry Rain Special-1st night Why have I called this 'Special' ?
It's because it's the only recording I have of  Bob playing sax live onstage at a gig.
R.I.P Bob and thanks for everything.
Dry Rain Special-following night This is the same venue as above but on our second night so some songs are repeated.

Dry Rain early recording - Side 1 Not sure when this was recorded. The cassette label only had 'Dry Rain early recording' on it.
Dry Rain early recording - Side 2

Dry Rain Gurnard Pines - Friday Night 36 mins long and Friday night was cabaret night with the duo Scalliwag. Scalliwag were not recorded on the tape.

Dry Rain - Gurnard Pines This is only 12 mins long as the rest of the tape had been recorded over !
Dry Rain - Gurnard Pines - 02 As with the tape above, this is only 15 mins long as the rest of the tape had been recorded over. At least it's better than nothing.

Dry Rain - Side A - Sandringham Hotel
Dry Rain - Side B - Sandringham Hotel

Dry Rain - Unknown Venue Not sure where I recorded this but possibly The Sandringham.
It's a good one even with drunk musicians mistakes lol !
